The Freelance Copyeditor position is for experienced copyeditors interested in helping us publish easy-to-use, plain-English law books.

Duties:

  • Edit for mechanics (spelling, punctuation, editorial style), language (grammar, usage), and content (clarity, consistency).
  • Implement house style using our style manual.

Qualifications:

  • Sharp eye for errors and inconsistencies.
  • Expert knowledge of the rules of grammar, punctuation, and usage.
  • Familiarity with the major style manuals.
  • Reliability in meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with legal citation form (the Bluebook) and legal writing is preferred.
